ISUOG News: 01 July 2015
ISUOG are thrilled to announce that we have reached 10,000 members and are fast becoming one of the largest international communities in ultrasound for obstetrics and gynecology. Thank you for being part of our growing community.
This growth is largely thanks to the hard work of our Membership Development Taskforce with the support of our Board, who were assigned this challenging goal in 2009 as a direct measure of the Society’s reach and influence in support of our mission to disseminate education and scientific information broadly across the world.
The current Chair of the Membership Development Taskforce, Aris Papageorghiou comments below, extending thanks to all those who have supporting ISUOG's mission:
It has been a long journey and I am really proud of the Membership Development team working with all our members to achieve what looked - to all - like a rather over ambitious target!
The fact that we made the target, despite the economic downturn, is a major achievement. Key initiatives - including membership tiers; greater involvement of members in decision making (Advisory group); regional champions (Ambassadors); inclusive memberships in courses and partnering with other organisations - were all suggestions from the membership development task force during their brilliant brainstorming sessions, and transformed by the team into reality.
The team are not resting on their laurels. We will continue to grow membership but the focus changes to membership retention. An increased international flavour with even more content in even more languages; CME programme; online learning platform; loyalty scheme; training programme and certification process are just a few of the major initiatives that will contribute to this.
Well done to all, and thanks Sarah for supporting our (sometimes rather crazy) ideas.
