ISUOG World Congress 2017

Fetal anatomy: normal or abnormal? The Basic Training approach.

Date: Friday 15 -  Saturday 16 September 2017.

Course directors: Trish Chudleigh and Titia Cohen-Overbeek

Hands-on simulation workshop directors: Gihad Chalouhi and Martin G. Tolsgaard.

The 2017 Congress Basic Training programme is designed to provide trainees with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to distinguish between common normal and abnormal ultrasound appearances in the second trimester fetus.

Trainees attending the Friday theoretical course are invited to register for the hands-on simulation workshop on Saurday 16 September 2017. This popular workshop offers a unique opportunity to do one-to-one training with an ISUOG tutor using state-of-the art simulation modules.

The programme will be delivered in English by expert international educators and trainees are invited to attend at subsidised rates.

Register here with reduced rates for trainees!

What is Basic Training?

ISUOG's Basic Training aims to ensure that all scan providers are competent and that all women receive a high standard of gynecological and obstetric care.

A full theoretical training curriculum, covering all the essential topics in obstetric and gynecolocal ultrasound, has been developed from  the ISUOG Education Committee recommendations for basic training in obstetric and gynecological ultrasound.

Each course cover topics from the full curriculum and are currently offered as one day theoretical courses, and opportunities to participate in hands-on simulation training during the ISUOG World Congress.

To date, nearly 400 trainees from across the world have participated in the very popular one day training courses at ISUOG World Congresses and over 800 have joined us via live stream. We have also ran highly popular simulation workshops in conjunction with the courses.

Members can explore the lectures from Montreal and Barcelona through the online learning module.

Who should attend?

The courses are aimed at trainees in obsterics and gynecology who are new to ultrasound, or to those who wish to refresh their basic scanning skills.

Trainee delegates and satellite participants also benefit from a one year complimentary core membership as a part of their registration.

Participate via livestream

We regularly offer the opportunity to participate via livestream. If you are unable to travel to a course, watch out for livestreamed events at a location in your country.

Local facilitators will ensure delegates get the best possible understanding of course content and attending in person will allow delegates to meet and network with local colleagues.

If you are interested in hosting a satellite course, contact us on: education@isuog.org . Please note that all satellite organisers need to be  ISUOG members.
