Just two months after the sold-out February ISUOG Education course in London, Italy has played host to the first ISUOG Ultrasound in Gynecology course. Organised under the auspices of SIEOG (Società Italiana di Ecografia Ostetrica e Ginecologica e Metodologie Biofisiche correlate) and hosted at the Catholic University of Rome the course was attended by over 150 international delegates.

It is testament to the organisation and support of the Italian organisers and speakers that the course was able to go ahead despite the transport chaos caused by the ash from the Icelandic volcano. A number of speakers were unable to attend, but fortunately members of the Italian faculty took the time to prepare and translate new presentations to ensure the course was still a great success for all present.
Over 20 live scans were undertaken
This course broke new ground by including such a large number of live scans. Over twenty individual scans were undertaken demonstrating a wide range of conditions across all lecture topics. Credit must be given to course director Antonia Testa for organising such an interesting and informative scientific programme. Presentations covered topics including myometrial, endometrial and adnexal pathology on the first day, through to gynecological cancer on the second day.

After so many fascinating live scans, we are also very pleased to be able to offer live recordings of all the lectures and scans to our members to view at their leisure. These can be viewed on the Web Lectures pages of the ISUOG website.
