ISUOG's growing community of 13,500 members

ISUOG are thrilled to announce that we have reached 13,500 members and are fast becoming one of the largest international communities in ultrasound for obstetrics and gynecology.

This growth is largely thanks to the hard work of our Membership Development Taskforce with the support of our Board, who were assigned this challenging goal in 2009 as a direct measure of the Society’s reach and influence in support of our mission to disseminate education and scientific information broadly across the world.

History of ISUOG and our mission
Founded in 1991, ISUOG was established by a small community of professionals driven to improve clinical practice in this niche field by sharing their expertise through an annual World Congress and subsequently a scientific Journal, Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

25 years later, ISUOG has 13500 members from 128 countries and offers a much wider range of education resources, including face to face courses and training programs, interactive online learning and clinical guidance documents, in addition to its Journal and World Congress.

To ensure its continued success the Society has identified four goals as the backbone of its Strategic plan: increased reach (member growth and influence); provision of a comprehensive education offering; continued quality in services and output; and an ultimate positive impact on healthcare outcomes.

Future membership goals

In conjunction with growth in numbers, ISUOG is pleased to see greater regional representation  and we continue to engage with new communities through our Ambassadors, Outreach programme and partnership activity to extend the reach of our resources further.

Preliminary results from our 2015 membership survey reflect that the desire for education and scientific information is growing and we embrace new technologies to support the seamless dissemination of our education programmes to all corners of the world.

Looking forward we have plans to provide more networking opportunities for our growing membership, so that our members can learn more from each other’s experiences practicing in this niche speciality and can develop effective research collaborations to promote excellence in ultrasound for obstetrics and gynecology.

We cannot achieve our goals on our own, and a strong principle guiding our work is a commitment to collaborative and partnership working with other organisations who share our values and support our mission.
Celebrate with us in Rome

We hope all our members will share in this exciting news and will join us for our 26th World Congress in Rome where we will be celebrating this news alongside our 25th Birthday celebrations.
