Prof. Lil Valentin has been a Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lund University, Sweden, since 2002. She is Head of the Ultrasound Unit, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Skåne University Hospital Malmö, Sweden. Her research is mainly in gynecologic ultrasound, especially Doppler ultrasound (both 2D and 3D), but also obstetric ultrasound (RCT on nuchal translucency screening, cervix in pregnancy, cesarean hysterotomy scars).

With more than 200 scientific publications and vast teaching experience, she is often an invited speaker at Congresses and courses. She has organised many ultrasound courses herself and is a current member of the Editorial Board for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr Povilas Sladkevicius has spoken on OB/GYN ultrasound all around the world as a lecturer at various courses: Sweden, Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Russia, Poland, Egypt and the United Kingdom. Dr Sladkevicius is a senior consultant of the ultrasound unit at Skane University Hospital, Sweden. He has previously worked at St. George’s Hospital, London University, London, United Kingdom.

Notable publications: Dr Sladkevicius has more than 100 publications in English, Russian, Swedish and Lithuanian.

Dr Antonia Carla Testa studied medicine at the Catholic University in Rome. She did her residency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the same university and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She obtained a Doctorate in fetal and pediatric cardiological sciences.

Since 1998 she worked in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Catholic University in Rome. In 2004 she became an Assistant Professor in the same University. Since 1989 she has been involved in ultrasound research, at first in the use of Doppler velocimetry in pregnancy and then in the study of ovarian masses and oncological pathologies. At present she is in charge of the gyne-oncological ultrasound service at the Catholic University in Rome.

2020 Gold Medal Award article

Davor Jurkovic is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Director of Gynaecology Diagnostic and Outpatient Treatment Unit at University College Hospital London.  His main clinical and academic interest is the use of ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of early pregnancy and gynaecological abnormalities.  He has pioneered the use of colour Doppler in gynaecology and early pregnancy as well as the use of three-dimensional ultrasound for the diagnosis of congenital uterine anomalies. He has published more than 250 papers in the international peer review journals and has edited five books on gynaecological ultrasound. Read more.
