This course will be held in Oman by the Oman Society of Ultrasound In Obstetrics and Gynecology (OSUOG) throughout four days and it will cover the essentials of the obstetric and gynecological ultrasound.
The program includes all the 30 ISUOG Basic Training Lectures and it is aimed not only for trainees who want to learn the theoretical knowledge and skills needed on ultrasound in OBS & GYN, but also to doctors with extensive experience.

Dr Ahlam Said Al Kalbani is a MD from Sultan Qaboos University, 2005. She has a Masters in Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound from Ian Donald School of Ultrasound, 2011.
Dr Ahlam Said Al Kalbani is a specialist ObGynm and the Head of obstetrics ultrasound unit at the Royal Hospital.
Dr. Badriya Naghmoosh Thani Al-Saadi worked at the Ottawa General Hospital, University of Ottawa as Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinical Fellowship and at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, University of Ottawa as a Research Fellowship. In 2015 she was a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography in OB/GYN at the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Rockville (America). In 2012 she was part of the Arab Board Part II at the Arab Board of Health Specializations in Syria (Damascus).
Dr.Dina Saleh AlBalushi is a MD at the Sultan Qaboos University and an Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist at the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. She has a Msc in obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound from Cardiff University.
Senior Consultant Obstetric and Fetal Medicine Head Unit of Fetal Medicine at Royal Hospital
Dr. Mouza Al Salmani is a Senior Consultant in Obstetric and Fetal Medicine at Royal Hospital. She is the head unit of Fetal Medicine since 2012 and the Ex-Director of OB/GY department at Royal Hospital since November 2016 till August 2021. She graduated from Sultan Qaboos University with the Medical degree in 1999 and she had her MRCOG from Royal college /London in 2006 after completing her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Royal Hospital. She completed her fellowship in fetal medicine at Harris Birthright research center/Kings college Hospital/London in 2011.She was involved in researches related to preterm labor,1st trimester screening and preeclampsia at Fetal Medicine Foundation/London. Dr Mouza received appreciation letters for the excellent outstanding Performance from Royal Hospital in 2015 and from Ministry of Health in 2017. She is actively involved in many Hospital and national committees. She is a member and technical expert in the higher medical committee which investigate all the litigations come from the legal system and other regional committees. She is a member in the international society of ultrasound in OB/GY and the Royal College in Obs/Gyne(London). She is the local organizer for the ISUOG outreach training program which is started in Oman in November 2017. She is the local organizer of the yearly national ultrasound workshops since 2012 . Dr Mouza is a senior clinical trainer at Oman Medical Specialty Board and was the local organizer of the MRCOG exams in Oman till 2018. She was a board member Of Oman Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology till 2020 and a member in the national Maternal morbidity and mortality committee at MoH. She is the founder and President of Oman Society of Ultrasound in Ob/Gyn. She was involved as speaker and chairperson in many national and international conferences and workshops.
Dr Solmaz Piri is an Obstetrician, Gynecologist and a holder of FMF Diploma in Fetal Medicine. She has been the Director of International Affairs at the National Association of Iranian Gynecologists and Obstetricians (NAIGO) since 2010. She has organised and participated in over 80 fetal ultrasound workshops in Iran, Dubai and Istanbul and has also been a member of the organizing committee of joint congress of NAIGO and FIGO in Tehran in 2017. In August 2019, she travelled to Oman as a voluntary trainer to deliver the phase 2 of ISUOG Outreach program and has continued to be ISUOG's virtual mentor for Oman since then. Sha also won NAIGO's Exemplary Physician Award in 2016 and is a registered doctor in both Iran and the UK. Dr Piri also became Director of ISUOG's Iranian Translation Team for COVID-19 resources and ISUOG Practice Guidelines to Persian, which have had over 40,000 reads.

Dr Tamima Al-Dughaishi, is a senior consultant in maternal fetal medicine at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Sultanate of Oman and associate program director for the OBS&GYN residency program at Oman medical specialty board. Founder & past president of Oman Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology(OSOG). Past vice president of Oman Medical Association (OMA). Graduated from the college of medicine at Sultan Qaboos university then did a full residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University, Canada and awarded the Canadian board of OBS& GYN in 2006 (FRCSC). She finished a two years’ fellowship program in maternal fetal medicine at Ottawa University and awarded the Canadian board in maternal fetal medicine in 2008. Dr Tamima is currently working as a senior consultant in maternal fetal medicine at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, with special interest in management of fetal anomalies and multiple pregnancies. She has been active in conducting and publishing research in high risk obstetrics and fetal medicine. Dr S.Suresh is the Managing Director of Mediscan Systems a tertiary referral centre for Fetal Medicine in India. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of O&G London (honoriscausa) and is actively involved in training over 4000 physicians from India and other countries in Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine for over 35 years. He has several publications to his credit and is involved in various Research projects in Fetal Medicine. He has set up the Birth Defects Registry of India which is recognized as a subnational registry by the WHO. He is the managing Trustee of Fetal Care Research Foundation a Charity organisation that aims to provide access to treatment options for the underprivileged. He is a recipient of several awards and was one of the earliest to set up a Fetoscopic surgical service in India.
He is a visiting Prof in Perinatology at the Sri Ramachandra Medical University and the Chief functionary of the Voluntary Health Services, a charitable hospital in Chennai which aims to achieve affordable quality health care for all .

After passing my MD in obstetrics and gynaecology from Mumbai University, India, Dr. Megha Venkataraman moved to Oman in 1991 and have been working in the Ministry of Health. During this period, she went to the United Kingdom and worked as a Clinical Fellow with Dr. Peter Soothill, one of the pioneer of Fetal Medicine and obtained a Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound / Fetal Medicine awarded by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist/ Royal College of Radiology. Dr. Megha Venkataraman also got my MRCOG during my stint in the United Kingdom and she is a member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Megha Venkataraman has been a guest speaker in a number of conferences in Oman as well as an instructor / trainer in a number of fetal medicine courses and trained a number of doctors including OMSB residents in Oman in the basic art of fetal sonongraphy.

Dr. Nihal is an Associate Professor and Senior Consultant Maternal Fetal Medicine and Head of the department at SQU. Dr Gihad E. Chalouhi MD, PhD is an Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist. He worked for 8 years with Prof. Yves Ville Y and Prof. Laurent Salomon in Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital, Paris and is subspecialized in fetal medicine and fetal surgery. He is specialized in fetal imaging and obtained his PhD in fetal functional MRI in Paris Descartes University and INSERM unit U970. He is a member of the CNGOF (French National College of obstetrics and Gynecology) and the LSOG (Lebanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology).
He is a pioneer in the implementation of simulation in obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound education, and remains actively involved in this integration. He is an active member of ISUOG's Basic Training Task Force, and leader of the Simulation Work Group. For the last five years he has worked as part of ISUOG's Clinical Standards Committee for the establishment of ISUOG’s Guidelines.

Honorary Member (Outreach Committee)
Titia Cohen-Overbeek has worked as a physician in Fetal Medicine at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Erasmus University Medical Centre since 1987. Prior to that she obtained her training in prenatal diagnosis during a 5-year period at Kings College Hospital in London under the guidance of professor Stuart Campbell. During that period, she was the first to visualize the blood flow in the uterine artery by Doppler ultrasound.
The early collaboration with many pediatric specialists resulted in numerous scientific papers on prenatal diagnosis of congenital anomalies, their postnatal outcome and the long term follow up of these children. Her thesis “Detection of congenital anomalies before or after birth; does it make a difference?” was published in 2008. Following the introduction in the Netherlands in 2007 of the fetal anomaly scan as part of the national prenatal screening program she established an widely attended ultrasound training program for obstetricians. Since 2015 she became member of the national quality committee geared towards assessing the quality of the various prenatal screening tests available within the national prenatal screening program
She has been member of the ISUOG outreach committee from 2012-2018, participated in the outreach project in Somaliland in 2012 and has been the leader of the outreach project in Oman from 2017 onwards. She was a member of the ISUOG Basic Training Taskforce since 2016 and was particularly involved with the formation of the Basic Training theoretical curriculum. In a collaboration of Medical Aid Films with ISUOG she was part of the team that made the two Basic Training instruction films “The principles of ultrasound” and “The Basic Steps of an Obstetric Ultrasound Examination” which are free available on the ISUOG website.

Dr. Maryam Al-Shukri is a senior consultant and an endoscopic surgeon in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital.
She is a graduate of Sultan Qaboos University. She completed residency program in OBGYN and fellowship in Minimal invasive gynecologic surgery at University of Manitoba, Canada in 2010 and she is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Besides the different clinical, administrative, technical and academic responsibilities at SQU, nationally; she is a founding and a current member of Oman Society of Obstetrics and gynecology (OSOG). She is the leader of the management team for Oman Fertility and Endoscopic surgery group under the OSOG since 2018. Also a founding member of the Oman Society of Ultrasound in OBGYN (OSUOG).
She has consistent efforts to disseminate the knowledge and practice of safe endoscopic surgery through different activities including workshops, conferences and visiting surgeons’ trips supporting the initiation of endoscopic surgery in the country. She has been active tutor and mentor for undergrad and post-grad learners and contributed to academia through womens’ health related publications. She is a member of the scientific committee for the OBGYN residency program of the Oman Medical Specialty board from 2010. She is a member of the national maternal mortality review committee since 2017 and being an invited technical expert for many hospitals. The passion and proficiency in gynecologic ultrasound is an important skill for any gynecologic and fertility surgeon. Across the years; her skills in gynecologic ultrasound was appreciated through invitation and participation as instructor for several ultrasound workshops at SQUH, Buraimi and Royal Hospital.
