OBSTETRICS

01. Screening for pregnancy complications (stillbirth, preterm birth, pre-eclampsia)

Includes all topics related to screening only at any trimester of these conditions.

02. Screening of chromosomal anomalies (incl. cfDNA, genomics and gene therapy)

Includes topics related to first trimester and later screening of chromosomal and genetic diseases.

03. Fetal brain and CNS anomalies

Includes all topics related to the evaluation of normal brain/CNS development as well as screening and diagnosis of brain and CNS anomalies from first trimester to later pregnancy.

04. Fetal heart, CHD and cardiac functions

All topics related to evaluation of normal heart development as well as screening and diagnosis of CHD from first trimester to later pregnancy.

05. Fetal disease and structural abnormalities

Includes all topics related to evaluation of normal fetal anatomy (other than brain/CNS and heart) development as well as screening and diagnosis of structural abnormalities (other than brain/CNS and heart) and syndromes/diseases involving several organs.

06. Fetal growth: normal and abnormal

Includes all topics related to evaluation of biometry, size, growth as well as the management of related problems (Doppler, IUGR, pre-eclampsia).

07. Multiple pregnancy

Includes all topics related to the US-based management of multiple pregnancies (mono or dichorionic), excluding fetal interventions.

08. Placenta anomalies including spectrum of placenta accreta disorders

Includes all topics related to cord/placental anomaly (previa, vasa previa...) and abnormally invasive placenta (screening, diagnosis, management).

09. Ultrasound in the labour ward

Includes all topics related to the use of ultrasound in the labour ward, either before during or immediately after delivery.

10. Fetal interventions

Includes all topics related to fetal interventions: medical therapy, surgery for monochorionic pregnancies, TRAP sequences, valvuloplasty, CDH, myelomeningocele, LUTO...

11. Artificial intelligence, education, simulation, safety and other innovations

Includes all topics related to training in ultrasound (including simulation tools), safety of examinations (including hygiene) and all technical innovations aiming to improve the quality of our examinations.

12. Fetal and maternal infections including coronavirus

Covid-19 (Coronavirus)

GYNECOLOGY

13. Early pregnancy complications

Included topics related to the diagnosis and management of miscarriage, the management of pregnancy of unknown location, the diagnosis of tubal and non-tubal ectopic pregnancy (although not Caesarean scar pregnancy – see topic 13). We would also be happy to see abstracts relating to the diagnosis of molar pregnancy in this category.

14. Early pregnancy development and placentation

Under this topic we would be happy to review abstracts that relate to pregnancy implantation and Caesarean section scars (including scar pregnancy), this would also cover enhanced myometrial vascularity and AVM. We are also interested in looking at the earlier diagnosis of abnormalities in early pregnancy. This topic also covers early pregnancy growth, the impact of early pregnancy events on long-term outcomes and subchorionic haematoma.

15. Managing ovarian masses

This topic relates to the use of ultrasound for the classification of ovarian and other adnexal pathology. In particular we are interested in the use of ultrasound to discriminate between benign and malignant ovarian masses. Work may include the use of biomarkers or other complementary imaging, but we would expect to see ultrasound data as part of the results.

16. Pelvic pain and endometriosis

This topic principally relates to work related to endometriosis and associated pathology. However submissions related to other causes of pelvic pain are welcome.

17. Reproductive medicine

As the title might suggest this relates to ultrasound and reproductive medicine. We would be happy to see submission related to the use of ultrasound in assisted conception, the assessment of ovarian function including polycystic ovarian syndrome as well as uterine and endometrial pathology and its impact on fertility.

18. Bleeding, endometrial and myometrial pathology

Includes the assessment of fibroids, polyps as well as the initial diagnosis of hyperplasia and endometrial carcinoma. It also would also include submissions relating to adenomyosis as well as work relating to the diagnosis of sarcoma.

19. Imaging in oncology

We would expect to see abstracts relating to the use of ultrasound to help manage women with gynecological malignancy, for example in the context of staging or managing ovarian, endometrial or cervical carcinoma.

20. Ultrasound and fertility preservation

Fertility preservation is an increasingly important area. We would welcome abstracts in this category covering ultrasound-guided intervention to reduce risk or procedures, ultrasound guided surgery, the use of ultrasound to conservatively manage borderline ovarian tumors, and how ultrasound may be used to reduce intervention (for example to select women for expectant management of a condition and so reduce the impact of surgery).

21. Urogynecology

Includes all studies relating to the use of ultrasound in urogynecology.
