The ISUOG Travel Grant gives clinicians from low resource countries the opportunity to attend the World Congress in person to network and learn from leaders in the field. Meet this year's Travel Grant winners below.

Albert is a qualified radiographer with a wide clinical experience in multimodal imaging modalities, including general x-ray/fluoroscopy, general and practical doppler ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, non-invasive vascular technology, echocardiography, and 12-lead electrocardiography. His clinical experience spanned over a decade in Ghana Health Service and Ministry of Health. He pursued a PhD Diagnostic Imaging at the National University of Malaysia having carried out his research on multimodal neuroimaging in Alzheimer’s disease. Albert was awarded his MSc with a specialty in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) from the Anglia Ruskin University, UK. He teaches in the following undergraduate programmes at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana –Diagnostic Imaging Technology and Diagnostic Medical Sonography. He has keen interest in clinical education, research mentoring and research capacity building for healthcare practitioners. His current research involves foetal and neonata lneurodevelopmental trajectories using multimodal imaging (i.e., ultrasound and MRI) and artificial intelligence. He has peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in international journals.

Bolurin is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and consultant obstetrician and gynecologist at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (formerly called the Federal Medical Centre) Yola, North Eastern Nigeria. His quest for adequate knowledge and skill in obstetric and gynecological ultrasound made him attend the Rhandawa Institute of Ultrasound Training, New Delhi in 2011. He also attended the ISUOG - approved obstetric and gynecological ultrasound course in Benin City Nigeria in 2016. Moreover, Bolurin was among the pioneer recipients of the ISUOG basic training (theoretical) certificate after successfully completing the BT Flex training program in the year 2020.
 
He has been passionately committed to the development of his subspecialty of interest, fetomaternal medicine in Nigeria and currently serves as a member of the executive committee of the Association of Fetomaternal Medicine Specialists of Nigeria (AFEMSON). He is a lead consultant with the fetomaternal unit of the obstetrics and gynecology department of his hospital where he has led the training of residents on the use of Doppler velocimetry in the antenatal management of high-risk conditions like preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction.
 
Bolurin's areas of research interest are focused on hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and preterm birth, the leading causes of maternal and perinatal mortality as well as morbidity in his environment.

Dr. Phuc Nhon Nguyen completed the general doctor’s degree from 2009 to 2015, and then became a resident doctor in the speciality of obstetrics and gynecology from 2015–2019 and obtained a postgraduate diploma at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Vietnam. He also spent a year at the University of Paris Descartes training under the DFMS programme. Previously, he worked at the Hue Central Hospital, Hue University Hospital, and the Center Hospital of Arpajon in France.
 
Currently, he specializes in feto-maternal medicine and the obstetrical field at the Department of High-Risk Pregnancy, Tu Du Hospital, a tertiary referral hospital in the south of Vietnam. Moreover, he is also a member of the Tu Du Clinical Research Unit (TD-CRU) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
 
Besides working as a clinical doctor for women’s healthcare, he spent a lot of time conducting studies and research on women’s health issues. He is especially interested in ultrasound scans for gynecologic cancers, such as endometrial cancer. As a young doctor, he has just begun on medical research, scientific article’s publication, and peer review in some international journals. In the future, he hopes to pursue a fellowship in ultrasound for international students as well as a Ph.D scholarship abroad and complete a multi-center-based study on modeling for predicting endometrial cancer in postmenopausal bleeding women.

Ons Kaabia is an associate professor in Gynecology and Obstetrics in the Faculty of Medicine of Sousse, Tunisia. She is director of the Complementary Education Certificate in pelvic and obstetrical ultrasound in the Faculty of Medicine of Sousse Tunisia. Ons is also a lecturer at the Complementary Education Certificate in pelvic and obstetrical ultrasound for the Faculty of Medicine of Sousse and for the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis. She is a consultant in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Farhat Hached teaching hospital in Sousse. Ons is the author of 15 theses in the field of pelvic and obstetrical ultrasound.

Sherif is a consultant of obstetrics and gynecology in the Reproductive Health Research Department of the National research Centre, Egypt. He has a special interest in the feto-maternal medicine. Sherif is also the author of many abstracts which have been published and/or presented in international conferences and congresses.
 
Sherif was born in Cairo in 1984 and he graduated from faculty of medicine, Cairo university in 2006. Since 2007, he has been working in the Reproductive Health Research Department of the National Research Centre Egypt. In 2012, Sherif completed a masters degree in obstetrics and gynecology from the faculty of medicine at Cairo University. From 2011 till 2018, he was working part time as a fellow in the fetal medicine unit of Kasr El Eini Teaching Hospital at Cairo University. He participated in IOTA 5 regarding patients collected from Egypt and became a certified member of IOTA in 2015. In 2017, he got a Medical degree in obstetrics and gynecology from the faculty of medicine at Cairo University. Since 2015, he has been a consultant of fetal medicine in a private Medical Imaging Centre in Egypt. The Fetal Medicine Foundation Diploma was awarded to him in 2020.
