Abstract submission key dates

  • 22 June: Late abstract submission deadline

  • July 2020: Notification of acceptance or rejection

  • 17 August: Presenting authors of accepted abstracts need to register by this date

PLEASE NOTE: Abstract submitters can submit their abstract(s) WITHOUT THE REQUIREMENT for abstract presenters to be registered by the extended abstract submission deadline (22 June 2020). However, presenting authors will need to register before 17 August 2020 and the abstract submitter discount will only be honoured until that date.

ISUOG rules of submission

  • At the time of submission if a paper has been published this cannot be included
  • If after acceptance it is published it can be presented but not as a top abstract
  • Submitted abstracts must not include already published data
  • All speakers participating in a CME activity are expected to disclose to the audience any financial interest or other relationship with the manufacturer(s) of any commercial product(s) and/or provider(s) of commercial services discussed in an educational presentation. You will be asked to confirm these interests during submission
  • All abstracts must be submitted via the official Congress online submission system
  • Additional instructions including formatting your abstract online 

Peer review and programme development

  • Peer review is continuing as normal for the Virtual World Congress
  • All abstracts are anonymously peer reviewed, scored and allocated on merit to oral communication (OC), short oral presentation (OP), poster discussion hub (P) or electronic poster (EP) sessions
  • Scientific programme sessions will be formulated around accepted abstracts to ensure that the final programme reflects the current research interest of our delegates and achieves the highest possible scientific standards. Invited and special lectures are chosen to compliment this material

Reproduction of abstracts

All abstracts accepted for presentation will be published in a supplement to ISUOG’s official Journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology (UOG). By submitting your abstract you agree to transfer the copyright to ISUOG should your abstract be accepted.

Recording of presentations

By submitting an abstract, you authorise ISUOG to record your presentation (if accepted) during the 30th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. All or a portion of presentations, comments, documents and presentation slides presented will be recorded and may be selected for inclusion on ISUOG’s On Demand web portal for members and other users. Please ensure you opt in during abstract submission if you wish your presentation to be made available On Demand.

Abstract notification

  • You will be notified as whether your abstract has been accepted in July 2020. Full details, including the timing of your presentations will be notified to accepted presenters at that time.
  • Presentations will be accepted in PowerPoint format only. More information will be made available on how to upload your PowerPoint slides for the Congress after your abstract has been accepted.
  • Any presenting author whose abstract is not accepted and who is unable to attend the Congress will be entitled to a refund of their registration fees minus an administration charge of GBP £40.00.

Presenting author registration requirement and discount

  • Abstract submitters can submit their abstract(s) WITHOUT THE REQUIREMENT for abstract presenters to be registered by the extended/late abstract submission deadline (22 June 2020). However, presenting authors will need to register BEFORE 17 August for abstract(s) to be considered for the programme. The abstract submitter discount will be honoured in all cases until the 17 August.
  • All abstracts submitted will receive a confirmation email from the system that will contain a registration discount code that the presenting author can use to register and claim GBP £50 discount on all full registration fees.  
  • Any presenting author whose abstract is not accepted and who is unable to attend the Congress will be entitled to a refund of their registration fees minus an administration charge of GBP £40.00.

Young Investigator Award

If the presenting author of an abstract has not completed their speciality or sub-speciality training then you may apply for the abstract to be considered for this award. The Scientific Committee will shortlist up to 5 abstracts in obstetrics and up to 5 abstracts in gynecology to be judged during the Congress. The winning abstracts in each category will be announced in the Congress. To qualify you must meet the following requirements:

  1. The author has not completed their specialty or sub-specialty training, and
  2. A letter from the head of department confirming the applicant’s trainee status is required. This letter must be uploaded to the relevant abstract during submission.

Congress Travel Grant

  • To support education and research in underserved regions of the world, ISUOG is making available grants for researchers from underserved regions to attend ISUOG’s Congress.
  • The grant is for individuals who are committed to research and improvement of services in their own regions and only candidates who meet the eligibility and qualifying criteria should apply. Click here to find out more. Please note priority will be given to new applicants who apply.
