Special Issues

The January 30th anniversary special issue of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology is completely free to access. The issue includes a number of insightful Opinions from leaders in the field, including Stuart Campbell’s recollections of how ISUOG and the Journal were born, Katia Bilardo’s reflections on how the Society has evolved, Kurt Hecher’s account of how intrauterine surgery has advanced over the last three decades and Roberto Romero’s commentary on the prediction and prevention of preterm birth. Also included are high-impact research papers from influential groups which highlight the breadth of topics in which ultrasound plays an instrumental or supporting role. The January issue is a special issue on Reproductive Medicine and is completely free to access. It contains a range of articles including, among others, systematic reviews and original research on the outcome of pregnancies conceived by assisted reproductive technology, articles on congenital uterine malformations and antral follicle counting, including a consensus opinion, and a randomized controlled trial on the treatment of early miscarriage. Also in this issue, is a consensus-based description of a curriculum and competency assessment for standardization of ultrasound training in residency programs.

The January issue is a special issue on Maternal Hemodynamics and is completely free to access. It contains a range of articles that focus on the validation of methods for hemodynamic assessment, monitoring of hemodynamics to guide therapy, hemodynamics in uteroplacental disorders, and postpartum maternal evaluation.

The November 2016 issue of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology is a special issue on Pregnancy Loss containing six Original Articles on stillbirth from Great Ormond Street Hospital, with an accompanying press release and Opinion article, five from King’s College Hospital and a number of articles on miscarriage, pregnancy of unknown location and ectopic pregnancy.
