Baby loss is often a taboo subject. It is estimated, that 23 million miscarriages take place every year worldwide, with 44 couples losing their pregnancy every minute. We are asking our community to recognise the psychological impact and extend their care beyond “diagnosis and treatment” for couples experiencing baby loss.

With the rise of the Omicron variant, ISUOG's Ask the Expert series returns to further discuss COVID-19 and maternal care. This time, the focus is on the perspective of the patient, with six panellists getting answers to the questions that matter to their patients most. Throughout December 2021, ISUOG's new Ask the Expert series goes to the heart of the issues surrounding COVID-19 and maternal care, with five panellists, over five weeks, getting answers to the questions that matter to our community most. The series opens with our specially selected expert panel, who met in September for World Patient Safety Day, comprising Prof Christoph Lees, Prof Andrea Dall’Asta, Prof Asma Khalil, Dr Raigam Jafet Martínez-Portilla and Dr Vincenzo Berghella.
