Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (UOG) enters a new era now that Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Karl Oliver Kagan, begins his tenure.
At the very beginning of his new role in UOG, we spoke to Oliver during a Forum session at the ISUOG Congress, where the audience were able to learn more from him on how he started out in obstetrics and gynecology, his research interests, some of the best papers of his career so far, and his hopes for the future of UOG under his leadership.
Oliver shared stories from his career journey up to now, starting from his early days as a trainee in Las Vegas where he did an internship in an emergency room. He found that the most interesting cases for him were in obstetrics and gynecology, and decided to pursue this area of medicine from that point onwards.

Later on in the Forum session, we opened the discussion to audience questions. Oliver spoke on case series, pathways for the younger generation of researchers, competition with other leading journals, and received many other intriguing questions from fellow UOG editors and ISUOG members more broadly.
