ISUOG heads to Luxor, Egypt for Phase II of the Egyptian Outreach Program

From 19–23 October 2025, the ISUOG Outreach Egyptian programme progressed to Phase II in Luxor. This phase focused on mentoring the newly trained Ultrasound Educators, equipping them to independently deliver high-quality training to a new cohort of trainees, including obstetricians and gynaecologists. The programme combined structured lectures, supervised hands-on clinical training with patients, and practical simulation sessions using OPUS simulators. The overarching goal of the initiative is to strengthen local training capacity and ultimately improve women’s health and maternal outcomes in Egypt.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Mindray for their generous support of this programme. Mindray provided vital assistance through funding and the provision of ultrasound equipment. Their on-site presence and seamless logistical coordination were instrumental in ensuring smooth and effective training operations, making them an invaluable contributor to the programme’s success. The NUEs and trainees expressed high satisfaction with the ultrasound systems supplied by Mindray and greatly valued the opportunity to train using the OPUS simulator, which significantly enhanced their hands-on learning experience.
