Program

During this four day course, participants will be introduced to the essentials of the obstetric and gynecological ultrasound scan. The first two days of the course will be composed of theoretical lectures covering the principles and physics of ultrasound, introducing the 6-step approach to performing the obstetric scan, and distinguishing between normal and abnormal fetal anatomy and fetal growth. The basics of gynecological scanning will also be introduced, with a step-by-step guide to performing a transvaginal scan, and an introduction to gynecological reporting.

Days 3 and 4 of the course will be devoted to simulation workshops. Delegates will have the opportunity to practice and reinforce the theoretical knowledge they learned on days 1 & 2, by gaining hands-on experience on state-of-the-art simulators. They will be guided through different scenarios by experienced ISUOG faculty – for example, performing both trans-abdominal and trans-vaginal scans, obtaining the different planes that are required to assess fetal anatomy, and identifying various anatomical landmarks and basic pathologies.

To further ensure high quality education is available to all ultrasound practitioners; we have developed an affordable pricing model that varies depending on your region, and depending on whether you wpuld like a certificate of completion of the full program (theoretical and practical) or of the theoretical component.
