Due to recent and ongoing events in the Middle East, the ISUOG trustees have made the difficult decision to relocate the 36th ISUOG World Congress to London, UK, for 2026.
At ISUOG's strategic planning meeting in early March, the unfolding situation in the Middle East was at the top of the trustees’ agenda. We have been monitoring developments in the region and we are pleased to report that our local contacts in Dubai confirm they are safe. Of course, the hope is that things stabilise as soon as possible for all concerned.
Our trustees have a duty of care regarding the Congress and during the past weeks they have been meeting to carefully consider the options and reach a consensus for next steps. Despite the shared desire to take the Congress to an important new region in 2026, the trustees have agreed that, due to the circumstance, for the event to remain in-person the most viable option is to return to London for this year. This has not been an easy decision and our sincere thanks goes to our Regional Organising Committee and all local/regional partners for their support until now.
We are pleased to confirm that we will be bringing the Congress to a new space at the London Excel, with excellent facilities and easy travel connections. Attendees can look forward to an exceptional event, great networking and the highest-quality scientific program. Our industry partners can expect the high standards and similar-scaled activities to those they had planned for Dubai.
As an exception, the abstracts deadline will be extended by two weeks to Monday 30 March. So, it is not too late to submit an abstract for inclusion in this prestigious event.
