Read the updated Consensus Opinion on the terms, definitions and measurements to describe the sonographic features of adnexal tumors from the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) Group.
The International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) standardised terms, definitions and measurements to describe the ultrasound features of adnexal masses have been adopted in clinical practice all over the world. They form the foundation for the prospective international multicenter IOTA studies, in which different methods to classify adnexal masses as benign or malignant or to predict risk of malignancy and type of malignancy were developed and validated.
This updated document from the IOTA Group summarises the terms, definitions and measurements required for using the IOTA modified benign descriptors, ADNEX model and two-step strategy, specifying the IOTA terms and definitions that have been newly added, updated or clarified.
