Advanced course on ultrasound examination of endometriosis is an ISUOG approved course and organised by Skane University Hospital, Sweden. The course aims to give participants a theoretical basis for using ultrasound to detect endometriosis and adenomyosis and to determine the extent of the disease, to describe the ultrasound findings using standardized terminology, diagnose decidualization in endometriosis and counselling patients with endometriosis about their risk of malignancy

Prof. Lil Valentin has been a Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lund University, Sweden, since 2002. She is Head of the Ultrasound Unit, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Skåne University Hospital Malmö, Sweden. Her research is mainly in gynecologic ultrasound, especially Doppler ultrasound (both 2D and 3D), but also obstetric ultrasound (RCT on nuchal translucency screening, cervix in pregnancy, cesarean hysterotomy scars).

With more than 200 scientific publications and vast teaching experience, she is often an invited speaker at Congresses and courses. She has organised many ultrasound courses herself and is a current member of the Editorial Board for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr Antonia Carla Testa studied medicine at the Catholic University in Rome. She did her residency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the same university and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She obtained a Doctorate in fetal and pediatric cardiological sciences.

Since 1998 she worked in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Catholic University in Rome. In 2004 she became an Assistant Professor in the same University. Since 1989 she has been involved in ultrasound research, at first in the use of Doppler velocimetry in pregnancy and then in the study of ovarian masses and oncological pathologies. At present she is in charge of the gyne-oncological ultrasound service at the Catholic University in Rome.

Dr Tina Tellum is an expert in gynaecological ultrasound. Her main research interest is within adenomyosis, and she published her Ph.D.-thesis on ultrasound- and MRI-diagnosis of adenomyosis. Advanced gynecologic surgeon and sonologist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hamilton Health Sciences

Dr. Mathew Leonardi is an advanced gynecologic surgeon and sonologist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hamilton Health Sciences and assistant professor at McMaster University. His special interests are imaging technologies including transvaginal ultrasound, endometriosis, advanced gynecologic surgery, innovation in diagnosis, and research. Mathew is completing a PhD in Medicine (University of Sydney, Australia), focusing on the utility of ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of endometriosis. He completed his MD and residency at the University of Toronto and fellowship at the University of Sydney.

Mathew is an early career researcher, co-supervisor of a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and appointee in the Medical Sciences department at McMaster University. He is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology and an Associate Editor for Reproduction & Fertility. He is involved in with the VISUOG Gynecology endeavour. Mathew is committee member of EndoAct Canada and contributing the latest clinical practice guidelines on endometriosis in Canada. He is leading a research program locally and contributing to international research studies.

Since 2002 he has been involved in ultrasound and oncology and endometriosis research, at first in the use of ultrasound for detection of deep endometriosis and then in the study of surgical techniques for bowel endometriosis. He has published over 130 papers in peer reviewed journals, is member and surgical teacher in Masterclasses of the EEL (European Endometriosis League) and SEF (Stiftung Endometrioseforschung) board and is involved on guidelines for endometriosis treatment (ESHRE). At present, he is in charge of the certified Center for Endometriosis at the St John of God University Teaching Hospital in Vienna and also works in the Rudolfinerhaus Private Clinic and Campus in Vienna, Austria.
