Professor Tom Bourne was ISUOG President between 2020 and 2022 and is curently Chair in Gynaecology at Imperial College London, Hon Consultant Gynaecologist at Queen Charlottes and Chelsea hospital and Visiting Professor at KU Leuven in Belgium. He is an authority on managing early pregnancy complications, emergency gynaecology and gynaecological ultrasonography. He trained in ultrasound at Kings College Hospital in London. He subsequently worked at the University of Göteborg, Sweden as Medical Research Council visiting scientist, Hamar in Norway, and Leuven in Belgium. He was appointed senior lecturer and consultant gynaecologist at St George's University Hospital London before moving to Imperial College. He has edited seven books and published over 400 papers. He sits on the management committee of the Tommy’s National Centre for Miscarriage Research. He is medical advisor and trustee of the patient group, the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust. He is immediate Past-President of the UK Association of Early Pregnancy Units. He is co-founder and CEO of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) group and sits on the steering committees of several large multicentre international trials. He is founder member of the RCOG task force on “supporting our doctors”. He is honorary fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, honorary member of the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine and honorary member of the Brazilian and Hungarian Ultrasound Societies.
His principal research interest is diagnostics in early pregnancy and gynaecology including the IOTA, IETA, IDEA and MUSA studies, microbiome, metabolomics, novel biomarkers, and AI. His interests include the psychology of pregnancy loss and physician welfare including studies with the BMA and RCOG.

A/Prof. Ligita Jokubkiene is an associated professor at Lund university, Sweden and senior consultant in obstetrics and gynecology at the Department of Obstetrics and gynecology, at Skane University Hospital in Malmö, Sweden.
Ligita Jokubkiene performs both gynecological and obstetrical ultrasound examinations at an advanced level. She has defended her thesis with the title” Three-dimensional ultrasound studies of normal and abnormal ovaries” in 2012. Professor Davor Jurkovic is a professor of gynaecology and director of the gynaecology diagnostic and outpatient treatment unit at University College Hospital, London. He is an internationally recognised expert in gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound. He has published extensively on these topics and has edited five books. He has helped to develop and run the RCOG training programmes in gynaecological ultrasound, acute gynaecology and early pregnancy. He is also a founding member of the educational charity Focus on Gynaecology. In 2020 he was awarded Ian Donald Gold Medal by the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology for his contribution to the advancement of diagnostic ultrasound through research and innovation.

Advanced gynecologic surgeon and sonologist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hamilton Health Sciences
Dr Mathew Leonardi is an expert in complex gynecology, endometriosis excision surgery and gynaecological ultrasound (associate professor) at McMaster University Medical Centre in Hamilton, Canada. He is an honorary adjunct lecturer at the University of Adelaide. His philosophy of care includes working in an interdisciplinary team and patient-centred decision making. He has been awarded his PhD from the University of Sydney which is focused on the utility of ultrasound in the diagnosis and surgical management of endometriosis.
Dr Leonardi is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in his field. He has published over 120 peer-reviewed scientific articles, several textbook chapters, and presented at numerous international congresses on endometriosis. He has received numerous awards for his conference presentations on endometriosis. He is an avid researcher, actively contributing academically to the advancement of gynecologic health.
Dr Leonardi is on the World Endometriosis Society Early Career Board and a founding member of the Next Generation Committee at the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is an Associate Editor for Reproduction & Fertility and on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Canada. He is part of an international research group named Imagendo, which won the most prestigious science award in Australia, the 2023 ANSTO Eureka Prize for Innovative Use of Technology.
Dr Simon Meagher is a consultant sonologist in the Perinatal Department at Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne and Medical Director of Monash Ultrasound for Women, where he leads a multidisciplinary team of around 50 sonologists, sonographers, genetic counsellors, phlebotomists and administrative staff delivering tertiary-level ultrasound services across south-eastern Melbourne.
He currently serves as a Trustee of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG), contributing to the governance and strategic direction of the Society alongside his role on its Board.
Over more than 30 years in this role, he has made a substantial contribution to education and training in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound, both in Australia and internationally, delivering over 800 lectures across 43 cities in 17 countries. In 2015, the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) named him Sonologist of the Year, recognising his teaching, his commitment to hands-on clinical training at Mercy Hospital for Women, and his long service to the Society.
His clinical research centres on early-pregnancy ultrasound, fetal development and prenatal imaging. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and described five original sonographic fetal markers used in the first and second trimesters, and his current research interests include embryonic development between seven and ten weeks' gestation and advances in prenatal ultrasound assessment.
Dr Meagher has held a number of leadership roles across his career, including Chair of ASUM's Standards of Practice Committee, examiner and Executive Board member for the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound, member of ASUM Council, and Chair of the Victorian Obstetric Sonologists Group, alongside contributions to several committees and subcommittees of ISUOG. He has also authored multiple textbook chapters in obstetrics and gynaecology, and wrote the ISUOG Fetal Cardiac Imaging Handbook, a freely downloadable resource produced as part of ISUOG's Every Little Heart Matters campaign.

Prof. Antonia Carla Testa is currently Associate Professor of the Institute of Obstetric and Gynecological Clinics at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Rome, Italy and Director of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences School at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart-Claudiana University, Bolzano, Italy. She is the Director of the Departmental Operational Unit of Outpatient Gynecology and Director of the Center for Ultrasound in Gynecological Oncology “Class Ultrasound” at the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital Foundation, IRCCS.
Her main scientific areas of interest are ultrasound diagnosis of gynecological tumors, ultrasound assessment of pelvic anatomy, innovation in ultrasound. She was medical consultant for leading companies (Samsung, Esaote, GE, Canon and Philips) in the development of ultrasound equipment to improve their ability to diagnose and recognize pelvic tumor masses.
She has published over 250 papers in international Medline-indexed journals (H-index of 49 on Scopus, 8,730 citations), authored 20 international book chapters, and has given 350 invited lectures over the past ten years at international scientific meetings. She was Associate Editor of “Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology” 2006-2015. She chaired the 26th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Rome, Italy (ISUOG), 2016 with over 3,000 delegates. Prof. Dirk Timmerman is a Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at KU Leuven, Belgium, and Clinical Head of benign gynecology and early pregnancy UZ Leuven. He is also Vice-chair of the Medical Council at the University Hospitals Leuven and Senior Clinical Investigator of the Scientific Research Fund (FWO) Flanders. He is coordinator of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) collaborative group, including more than 50 centres for ovarian cancer diagnosis throughout the world. The IOTA group aims to develop new algorithms and liquid biopsies to diagnose and detect ovarian cancer and provide optimal care of adnexal tumors (included patients n>22,500). He has been awarded the Inbev Baillet-Latour Prize for Clinical Research 2014, Fellowship ad eundem from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG, London, 2014) and the William J. Fry Memorial Lecture Award from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine 2016 at AIUM Annual Convention, New York.

Prof. Lil Valentin is a Swedish Senior Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Lund University and the former Head of the Ultrasound Unit at Skåne University Hospital Malmö. She is globally recognized as a leading authority on gynaecological ultrasound, specifically for her pioneering research in the non-invasive discrimination between benign and malignant ovarian tumors. She earned her medical degree from Lund University in 1974, completed her specialization in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1980, and was awarded a full professorship at her alma mater in 2002.
Prof. Valentin has co-founded major international research networks that have transformed clinical practice. In 1997, she co-founded the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) collaboration, which now spans over 40 global centres to improve the pre-operative diagnosis of adnexal masses. In 2008, she also co-founded the International Endometrial Tumor Analysis (IETA) group to standardize the ultrasound evaluation of endometrial pathology. Beyond her work in oncology, she has served as the main coordinator for Swedish multicenter studies examining cervical length to predict and prevent preterm births.
Her extensive academic contributions include over 250 peer-reviewed scientific publications and a tenure as an editor for the journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology (UOG). In recognition of her exceptional impact on the field, the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) awarded her the prestigious Ian Donald Gold Medal for lifetime achievement in 2019.
