April 2026 is Adenomyosis Awareness Month – a time to give dedicated attention to an often-over-looked uterine condition, and reflect upon the evolving landscape of diagnosis and treatment of the last few years.
ISUOG Podcast
The April edition of the ISUOG Podcast is a special episode that honours Adenomyosis Awareness Month, with a discussion between two experts in the field – A/Prof. Tina Tellum from Oslo, Norway and Dr Joel Naftalin from London, UK. A/Prof. Tellum and Dr Naftalin reflect upon how they became fascinated with the field of adenomyosis as there was very little academic literature on it until around 2012, before which time endometriosis was overshadowing the research space.
Dr Naftalin commented: “People thought you couldn’t diagnose adenomyosis on ultrasound scans”.
