February 2026 UOG Highlights
The February issue of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology includes a meta-analysis evaluating the risk of adverse perinatal outcomes following single intrauterine death in monochorionic twin pregnancy, a prospective study comparing the use of ultrasound with CT and MRI for the prediction of surgical outcome in tubo-ovarian carcinoma patients, a population-based study assessing how pre-eclampsia risk varies with gestational age, a multicenter cross-sectional study examining the association of sling location with cure, satisfaction and complications 10–20 years after midurethral sling surgery, and an ISUOG Consensus Statement outlining how to perform a gynecological ultrasound scan and report the findings.
UOG Videoclip: Neck collar sign: novel sonographic finding in case of labor arrest
New UOG Journal videoclip on a novel sonographic sign of labor arrest, the 'neck collar sign': a peculiar myometrial thickening around the fetal neck, suggestive of a constriction ring.
UOG Videoclip: ChatGPT in the delivery room: proof-of-concept for live video-assisted clinical decision support in intrapartum ultrasound
New UOG Journal videoclip demonstrating artificial intelligence assessing the angle of progression during the second stage of labor and aiding with the clinical decision-making process.
December 2025 UOG Highlights
The December issue of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology includes an observational cohort study assessing the neurodevelopmental outcomes of uncomplicated monochorionic diamniotic twins, a systematic review evaluating the use of twin vs singleton growth charts for identifying small-for-gestational-age fetuses at risk of adverse neonatal outcomes, a study investigating the performance of non-invasive prenatal testing in vanishing-twin and multiple pregnancies, and a prospective cohort study examining the prevalence of LAM avulsion after forceps-assisted and vacuum-assisted deliveries.
ISUOG Practice Guidelines: point-of-care ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology
This document provides recommendations regarding the appropriate use of point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) in obstetrics and gynecology (Ob/Gyn) in various clinical scenarios encountered by different healthcare professionals (e.g. emergency physicians, obstetrician-gynecologists, midwives, residents and family physicians). The target population consists of patients with Ob/Gyn complications or those needing an interventional procedure for which an immediate bedside sonographic evaluation is helpful.
