A message from the ISUOG CEO, Wendy Holloway.

On behalf of the staff and trustees, I am sad to share with our ISUOG community the passing of our treasured colleague Dion Bassett.
An important part of our ISUOG DNA since 2016, Dion worked hard to deliver our events and activities to the highest standards. Her passion for our World Congress was undeniable. Many of our industry partners from our Rome Congress in 2016 to our Budapest Congress in 2024, will have fond memories of her strict, yet happy and playful character, as she ensured the event experience was the best it could be.
Dion was instrumental in working with senior leadership to launch our Ultrasound Essentials event, growing it in a short time to attract more than 10,000 attendees annually… something I know she particularly enjoyed nurturing and was most proud of.
An all-round fabulous human being has left our physical Earth; her loss will be felt by those who knew her, and I know our ISUOG community will feel the pain deeply. She lived her life to the fullest extent, unapologetically, with purpose, determination, and passion.
A dedicated mother to her beautiful daughters Rhiannon, Livvy, and the late Molly Bassett, Dion was also a devoted wife to the late Clive Bassett, and chief cuddler of River, her rascal pup!
Dion, wherever you go next, I am sure a light will shine on you… and there will be a lovely glass of vino at the ready and Bon Jovi music blaring in the background. We love you - you will be in our hearts forever.
If anyone wishes to honour Dion’s memory, the family have suggested that you donate to Cancer Research UK or Dogs Trust.
