ISUOG’s most recent advanced educational event in India achieved great attendance from healthcare professionals in the region and online, bringing high-level OB/GYN ultrasound education to over 200 attendees world-wide.

Earlier this month, from 14–15 March 2026, ISUOG’s global faculty came together in Chandigarh for the ISUOG India Symposium: making the uncommon common. At the two-day event, which included a bonus ultrasound workshop on the Friday, there were 120 onsite attendees.

Hear from Dr Meetan Preet, course co-Chair:

“Hosting ISUOG in India felt like welcoming a reputed global family of learning and excellence into our own home. The warmth, sincerity and enthusiasm throughout the event made its success truly memorable.

“The support that ISUOG extended to our clinicians here with the highest standards of education was impeccable. It was heartening to witness such energy, humility, and commitment to learning among participants and faculty alike. We wish for many more insightful collaborations with ISUOG in the future!”

ISUOG ran this course an important mission to reach doctors in India, who made up 63% of attendees. Other top countries in terms of attendance were the UK, Australia, Philippines, USA, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico and South Africa.

One of the event’s key speakers and ISUOG Trustee, Prof. Asma Khalil, said:
“The discussions were insightful, the engagement from the audience was fantastic, and it was inspiring to see such strong collaboration among colleagues from across India and beyond. Meetings like this are vital for sharing knowledge, strengthening networks, and ultimately improving care for women and their babies.”

ISUOG was proud to be able to run an e-poster session, designed to widen participation in the program, foster the development of young researchers and promote career progression. There was a total of 18 e-posters presented, and Dr Pallavi Patil won the first-place prize for the e-poster award. She said:

“Delighted and deeply honoured to receive the first prize for e-poster presentation at the ISUOG India Symposium, Chandigarh. It was a privilege to receive this recognition from such eminent faculty.

“Grateful for this recognition on such a prestigious academic platform. Moments like these motivate me to continue striving for excellence in fetal medicine and prenatal diagnosis.”

During the session on how to scan fetal CNS when the fetus is in breech, Dr Prashant Acharya demonstrated how to scan physically, as he enthusiastically got into the position as a visual guide for attendees.
