As you are aware, there is ongoing regional conflict in parts of the Middle East. The safety, well-being, and confidence of our delegates, faculty, sponsors, and partners remain our highest priorities.
Dear colleagues, partners, and delegates,
We are writing to provide a formal update regarding the upcoming 36th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, held in Dubai, UAE from 6-9 September 2026.
As you are aware, there is ongoing regional conflict in parts of the Middle East. The safety, well-being, and confidence of our delegates, faculty, sponsors, and partners remain our highest priorities. Accordingly, the ISUOG Board of Trustees have initiated a structured monitoring and contingency planning process.
At this time, the Congress remains scheduled to proceed as planned. However, we are actively undertaking the following measures:
-
Conducting ongoing assessments of regional developments and international travel advisories.
-
Reviewing aviation and airspace stability affecting international access.
-
Undertaking a comprehensive insurance and contractual audit.
-
Developing parallel contingency plans, including potential relocation and hybrid participation models.
-
Establishing defined decision checkpoints in advance of the event.
We have identified specific criteria and decision deadlines to ensure that any necessary action is taken in a timely and responsible manner. This approach is designed to avoid last-minute disruption while preserving the scientific and professional integrity of the Congress.
Those of you who are planning to submit an abstract for the Congress, we encourage you to continue to do this, the deadline is 17 March 2026. If any Congress details change subsequently, abstract submitters will of course be notified and given notice to plan accordingly. To submit your abstract please visit our abstract submission page.
As we move through our key checkpoints, we commit to transparent and regular communication and a further update will be issued in the next two weeks, or sooner should material developments arise.
Our goal is to deliver a safe, accessible, and impactful Congress that upholds the highest scientific standards in women’s health. We appreciate your continued engagement and trust as we navigate this evolving environment with diligence and care.
If you have specific concerns regarding participation, sponsorship, or travel planning, please refer to our FAQs on our Congress page where we will add updates when we have them or contact the Congress Secretariat directly at [email protected].
We thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Yours sincerely,
The ISUOG Board of Trustees, Chief Executive Officer, and Management team.
