Marked annually, World Prematurity Day raises awareness of the impact of preterm birth on babies across the globe.

Globally, prematurity is the leading cause of death in children under the age of five years.

The early and routine use of ultrasound is an important tool for predicting preterm birth, as outlined in the ISUOG Practice Guidelines: role of ultrasound in the prediction of spontaneous preterm birth. Read the guideline to learn more on specific recommendations for best practice, and share the guideline with your colleagues.

If you would like to gain a comprehensive understanding early detection of preterm birth, ISUOG has an Advanced Training Curriculum online module on preterm birth and cervical assessment, based on the ISUOG Practice Guidelines. Find out more and purchase the module.

Interested in supplementing your learning? ISUOG has a range of paid and free resources on this page for those of you interested in learning more on this topic. UOG articles and the VISUOG open chapter on the Cervix are available for free. And you can also access CME activities at an added cost (discounted for members).
