PLEASE NOTE: Abstracts cannot be published or included in the program unless the appropriate registration fee has been received.

Abstract presentations

Submitted abstracts should include unpublished data. All abstracts will be anonymously peer reviewed, scored and allocated on merit to oral or poster sessions. Scientific program sessions will be formulated around accepted free communication abstracts to ensure that the final program reflects the current research interest of our delegates and achieves the highest possible scientific standards.

Presentation categories

All abstracts will be considered for oral OR poster categories. Authors may indicate if they are UNABLE to present their paper as an oral presentation. All presentations will be in PowerPoint format only. Authors have an additional option this year to submit their papers to the 'just images' category (see below). Authors must in this case specifically indicate that they wish their paper to be considered in this category, and must include a relevant single image for review.

Full presentation specifications for each category will be made available on the website and will be forwarded to authors after abstract acceptance.
N.B. No facilities for slides, video or overhead transparencies or poster boards will be available at the Congress.

Submission of abstracts

Abstracts must be submitted via this website. Submissions will be accepted from December 2007 to 2 March 2008. Click on the 'Call for papers' button and follow the submission instructions. Please ensure that you read the additional help and information instructions carefully before commencing the submission process.

Just Images presentations

Authors who are submitting original case reports (or innovative techniques which focus on image presentation), with particularly interesting or novel images and who wish to be considered for oral presentation, should select this submission category. Submissions must be accompanied by one single relevant image (in JPG or GIF format only).

Oral presentations

Oral free communications will be presented in the main program sessions and limited slots will therefore be available. Presenters will be allocated a total of 5 minutes for their presentation, unless specifically invited by the Scientific Committee to give a more detailed lecture. All oral presentations must be prepared according to the template provided. There is no discussion time included in specific presentation times but there will be allocated discussion time at the end of each session for questions and discussion. All presenting authors are expected to be available to participate in discussion.

Oral presentations can be submitted online in advance of the Congress, or through the speaker preparation room on-site.

Poster presentations

Poster presentations will be themed by subject. Posters must be prepared and presented in PowerPoint format only and will be displayed as part of themed rolling presentations.

There are two categories of posters – Oral posters and View Only posters.

  • Oral posters are presented within chaired discussion groups at 10:00 each day of the Congress (Monday-Thursday). Presenting authors will be asked to present their work in one minute, and to be available for discussion and questions at the end of the session.
  • View Only posters will be displayed for viewing only. Authors should be available during break times on the day their presentation is being viewed to answer any questions.

All PowerPoint posters must be prepared according to the template provided. All posters must be submitted online in advance of the Congress.
