This 5-days intensive advanced course is approved by ISUOG and organised by Skåne University Hospital. Program: Lectures, LIVE scanning, case presentations, interactive sessions and lectures (ultrasound physics including artefacts, examination technique, image optimization,  adnexal masses, abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, endometriosis, tree-dimensional (3D) ultrasound, uterine malformations, management of incidentally detected adnexal masses or ”thick endometrium”, screening for ovarian and endometrial cancer, early pregnancy complications, MUSA, IETA, IDEA terminology, and more). Includes IOTA (International Ovarian Tumor Analysis) certification test.

Examination: Written test at the end of the course. Possibility to become IOTA certified.

Goal: After having participated in this course, the participants should be able to use gynecological ultrasound in an optimal way in clinical practice.

Course fee: 1250 EURO plus 25% VAT.

Dr Antonia Carla Testa studied medicine at the Catholic University in Rome. She did her residency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the same university and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She obtained a Doctorate in fetal and pediatric cardiological sciences.

Since 1998 she worked in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Catholic University in Rome. In 2004 she became an Assistant Professor in the same University. Since 1989 she has been involved in ultrasound research, at first in the use of Doppler velocimetry in pregnancy and then in the study of ovarian masses and oncological pathologies. At present she is in charge of the gyne-oncological ultrasound service at the Catholic University in Rome.

Prof. Daniela Fischerova is specialized in O&G (1st and 2nd degree, 2000, 2004), clinical oncology (2005), and gynecological oncology (2011). She hold a PhD in experimental surgery (2008). She works as a professor at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University (2012). Since 2016, she serves as a Board member of the International Society of Ultrasound in O&G (ISUOG) and since 2021 she also becomes a Board member of the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO). At a national level, she serves as the Vice President of the Czech Ultrasound Society in O&G and Board member of Czech Gynecologic Oncology society. She is academically very active in ultrasound imaging of gynecological cancer and passionate about promoting implementation of ultrasound in cancer staging, particularly by teaching and international research cooperation. She established Scientific and Educational Ultrasound Centre at Charles University. Twice a year she organises International Workshop on Ultrasound in Gynecologic Oncology (IWUGO) in Prague.

Davor Jurkovic is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Director of Gynaecology Diagnostic and Outpatient Treatment Unit at University College Hospital London.  His main clinical and academic interest is the use of ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of early pregnancy and gynaecological abnormalities.  He has pioneered the use of colour Doppler in gynaecology and early pregnancy as well as the use of three-dimensional ultrasound for the diagnosis of congenital uterine anomalies. He has published more than 250 papers in the international peer review journals and has edited five books on gynaecological ultrasound. Read more.
