This course aims to give participants a theoretical basis for using ultrasound to detect endometriosis and adenomyosis and to determine the extent of the disease, to describe the ultrasound findings using standardized terminology, diagnose decidualization in endometriosis and counselling patients with endometriosis about their risk of malignancy

A/Prof. Povilas Sladkevicius has spoken on OB/GYN ultrasound all around the world as a lecturer at various courses: Sweden, Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Russia, Poland, Egypt and the United Kingdom. A/Prof. Sladkevicius is a senior consultant of the ultrasound unit at Skane University Hospital, Sweden. He has previously worked at St. George’s Hospital, London University, London, United Kingdom.

Suitable for: Specialists in obstetrics and gynecology with at least basic skills in gynecological ultrasound and interest in endometriosis

Program: Lectures, live scanning, case presentations. The course includes image optimization, scanning-technique, pelvic anatomy as seen with ultrasound (central, anterior, posterior and lateral compartment), ultrasound appearance of deep endometriosis in different sites (ovaries, uterus, utero-sacral ligaments, bowel, urinary bladder, abdominal wall, umbilicus, groin, ileo-ceakal, nerves, superficial endometriosis), Ultrasound appearance and classification of adenomyosis. Measurement technique, standardized terminology (IDEA, MUSA), diagnosis of decidualization of endometriosis during pregnancy and malignization in endometriosis.
