Prof. Mohamed Kamal Etman trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ain Shams University, where he later subspecialized in Fetal Medicine. He currently serves as a Full Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Fetal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Fayoum University, Egypt, and as a Consultant in Fetal Medicine and High-Risk Obstetric Care. Previously, he was a Consultant in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit at Ain Shams University Hospital, where he was actively involved in the implementation of evidence-based clinical guidelines.

Prof. Etman is the Founder and President of the Egyptian Fetal Medicine Foundation (EFMF) and the Director of the ISUOG Outreach Program in Egypt. He also obtained his medical degree and completed his residency training at Ain Shams University. Additionally, he was a Visiting Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound and Fetal Echocardiography in the Department of Radiology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, Pennsylvania, USA.

Since 2017, Prof. Etman has organized and led numerous ISUOG-endorsed Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics Ultrasound workshops, training hundreds of healthcare practitioners across Egypt and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. He has also conducted ISUOG Basic Training courses in Sudan, Libya, and several other MENA countries, contributing to the advancement of ultrasound education and capacity building in the region.

As an active ISUOG Ambassador to the MENA region, Prof. Etman has delivered multiple ISUOG-approved courses, encouraging hundreds of physicians to join and engage with ISUOG. He was also the Organizer and Chair of ISUOG’s 16th International Symposium held in Cairo, Egypt.
