This course offers the full Basic Training curriculum in obstetrics and gynecology. Additionally, you can register for the final ISUOG Basic Training Certification exam which will be open from Monday 7 March 2022 to Thursday 7 April 2022.
The course will be held at the King Fahd Hospital of the University Site 1, Al Aqrabiyah, Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia and it will cover the essentials of the obstetric and gynecological ultrasound.
This three days program includes all the 30 ISUOG Basic Training Lectures and it is complemented with hands-on sessions to transfer theoretical knowledge to practical skills with the direction and supervision of national figures in the field. The course it is aimed to obstetrics and gynecology, family medicine, radiology consultants and medical residents who want to learn the theoretical knowledge and skills needed on ultrasound in OBS & GYN.

Amanda Ghebar is currently the lead technologist in Ultrasound at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare is a regional healthcare system leader in patient and family experience, clinical outcomes, and the advancement of health professions. Previously, she worked as a Senior Ultrasound Technologist at the same institution, the Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare by performing a high standard diagnostic ultrasound examination for the patient including Abdomen, Pelvic, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Superficial Parts, DVT, Carotids and Paediatric Imaging.
In 2011, Amanda Ghebar performed as a Sonographer at Chatswood & Ryde Radiology (North Coast Radiology Group). North Coast Radiology Group provides consistent, caring and professional services to referring practitioners, patients and customers utilising advanced, state of the art imaging technology. All medical imaging modalities are represented by the Group including multi-slice CT, ultrasound, licensed MRI, nuclear medicine, general and dental radiography, mammography and bone densitometry. A large interventional service is also offered. At the same time, she performed as Ultrasound Applications Specialist at the Toshiba Australia- Medical Division, a leading Australasian supplier of medical diagnostic imaging solutions. Toshiba is recognized for industry-leading product service and support in CT, X-ray and Ultrasound.
Assistant Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at IAU, Saudi Arabia
Dr Ahlam Al Ghamdi is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at IAU, Saudi Arabia since 2008. Her speciality is Obstetrics and Gynecology with a Subspeciality in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Recurrent Miscarriage and her area of expertise is Minimal Invasive Surgery. In addition to this, she has been the Resident Program Director at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at IAU, Saudi Arabia.
Dr Ahlam Al Ghamdi took part in numerous Scientific Research Papers and largely contributed to Scientific Journals as a Reviewer and as a Member of the Editorial Board. She is currently researching Insulin Resistance in Women with Unexplained Recurrent Pregnancy Loss: case-control study and Knowledge, Attitude, and Behaviour of Saudi females regarding Intrauterine device (IUD) usage.
Since August 2019, Dr Abrar Saud Al Sadah has currently worked as OBGYN & Maternal-fetal medicine consultant at the Maternity and children hospital of Dammam and she is also the Head of Maternal-fetal medicine and OB ultrasound unit at MCH-D. Dr Abrar Saud Al Sadah is a member of the local committee of perinatal mortality at MCH-DM. She processes improvement officer at OBGYN department, MCH-D and currently works as the ministry of health of Saudi Arabia surveyor.
Dr Abrar Saud Al Sadah completed two years of fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the Ottawa Hospital and a one-year fellowship in perinatal medicine and fetal intervention at the University of Toronto and Mount Sinai Hospital.
Dr Fatimah Trabulsi is a Consultant Radiologist at the John Hopkins Saudi Aramco Healthcare in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia where she leads the ultrasound service at a 400-bed state of the art hospital, managing 11 technologists and performing on average 90 exams per day. Before this, Dr Fatimah Trabulsi practised as a Consultant Radiologist at the Dhahran Health Center in Saudi Aramco (SAMSO) in which she took part in all disciplines of diagnostic radiology, with a special interest in ultrasound service. From 1998 to 2002, Dr Trabulsi has been the Chief of Radiology Services at the Dhahran Health Center where she leads the Radiology Department, providing the full spectrum of diagnostic, Interventional and Nuclear Medicine services.
Dr Nourah Hasan Al Qahtani is an Associate Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, College of Medicine, University of Dammam. She is performing as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the King Fahd Hospital of the University in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, since 2003 and at Abha Private Hospital since 2000.
She took part in several publications and largely contributed to scientific conferences and symposia.
From 2006, Dr Samiha Al-Awami is a Consultant in the Feto-Maternal Medicine/Perinatologist Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Al-Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal National Guard Hospital in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Previously, she was a Clinical Fellow in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the McMaster University Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. From 2002, she took the role of Assistant Consultant in Ob/Gynecology at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Al-Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal as well as being an Assistant Consultant in Ob/Gynecology at the King Fahad National Guard Hospital in Riyadh, K.S.A.
In 2001, Dr Samiha Al-Awami has been awarded a Scholarship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine as the resident of the year.

Dr Eman Alsulmi is currently an Assistant Professor at the Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University and a Consultant Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the King Fahad Hospital of the University. She practised as a Consultant in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare in 2018 and the King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam since 2014.
Dr Eman Alsulmi took part in several publications, research and Journal Articles as well as been invited s a lecturer at several conferences.
Dr Hatoon Ahmed A. Altaifi is an Assistant professor at the Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal, Saudi Arabia and has recently been appointed as a Consultant MFM at the King Fahad University Hospital.
Dr Hatoon Ahmed A. Altaifi took place in several published articles and researches as well as in papers presented in Specialised Scientific Conferences. Her current researches' titles are Perinatal Outcomes and Fetal Growth Restriction Risk Factors in Kidney Transplant Recipients: A Retrospective cohort study at the tertiary centre; Mayer-Rokitansky-Hauser syndrome associated with unilateral gonadal agenesis and ovarian failure: A case report; Isolation of fetal cells from coelomatic fluid for early prenatal diagnosis of genetic diseases.
Dr Al Faraj is a graduate of King Faisal University College of medicine and medical sciences. She is trained in Obstetrics and gynaecology at McGill University and did her fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Toronto. She is board certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in obstetrics and gynaecology as well as maternal-fetal medicine.
Dr Al Faraj has been practising since 2004, the last 9 years as a consultant in maternal-fetal medicine at Johns Hopkins ARAMCO health care.
Prof. Dr Haifa A Al-Turki is a specialised Professor in Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Medicine at the College of Medicine at the Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam since 2019. Before this, Prof. Dr Haifa A Al-Turki has practised as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine at the University of Dammam.
Her speciality is in Obstetrics and Gynecology with a particular interest in Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Medicine and her area of expertise is Endoscopic Surgery, Infertility. She took part in numerous publications and Scientific Research Papers Presented to Specialized Scientific Conferences. She also contributed to Scientific Journals as a Reviewer or a member of the Editorial Board. Currently Prof. Dr Haifa A Al-Turki is researching on Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS): Current Concepts and on Sonohysterography Versus Hysterosalpingography for Intrauterine Abnormalities in infertile Saudi Arabian women.
