ISUOG and the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) present a FREE two-day online event for all clinicians working for lower resource settings on 8-9 April 2022. The event will cover ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology from basic concepts to more specialist applications.

Co-chaired by Tom Bourne and Kypros Nicolaides, this event covers all the important areas of the use of ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology from basic concepts to more specialist applications, such as fetal cardiology and cervical cancer staging.

Registration for this event is only possible for clinicians working and currently resident in lower resource countries as defined by research4life and Southern Africa. Those working in countries not included on this list will be unable to access the meeting or register for the event.

8 April 2022- Day 1

Gynecology and early pregnancy
Topics include

  • Sonographic features of abdomino-pelvic tuberculosis
  • Safe management options for miscarriage including medical and Manuel Vacuum Aspiration
  • Diagnosis and management of tubal ectopic pregnancy with case examples
  • The diagnosis of PID, and the ultrasound diagnosis and guided management of pelvic abscess
  • The evaluation of cervical cancer including case examples

Impacting maternal mortality
Topics include

  • Recognising and managing maternal sepsis
  • Reducing Post-partum haemorrhage

Obstetric scanning and fetal medicine chaired by Prof Kypros Nicolaides.

  • Screening and diagnosing placenta accreta spectrum
  • Screening for pre-eclampsia
