Prof. Lorraine Dugoff (USA)

Dr. Lorraine Dugoff is a Professor and the Chief of Reproductive Genetics in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania. She is board certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Clinical Genetics. She has been actively engaged in multiple national (U.S.) and international societies. Dr. Dugoff's clinical work and research is focused on fetal imaging, the application of emerging genetic technologies to clinical care and first trimester prediction of adverse obstetric outcomes.

Aris Papageorghiou is Professor of Fetal Medicine. He splits his time between providing clinical services to the National Health Service at St George’s Hospital in London and academic work at the University of Oxford.

His clinical interests are in maternal and fetal medicine, in particular fetal diagnosis and therapy. On the academic front he is research director of the Oxford Maternal and Perinatal Health Institute and leads research in maternal, fetal and perinatal health using diverse methods. This includes several large global projects in low resource settings using ultrasound, biomarkers and interventions to improve phenotyping and outcomes. One major research line is in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in imaging, which led to him founding the Oxford spin-out, Intelligent Ultrasound. Committed to globally accessible education, he founded www.scan.academy during the pandemic.

Aris is a prolific academic with over 450 original articles and an h-index of 86. He has received many honours, including a prestigious Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Athens; Honorary Fellow Award of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine; and Fellowship of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a Visiting Professor at Capital Medical University, Beijing; and the Chair of the Expert Working Group in OBGYN for NHS Digital, UK. In 2022 he was appointed as Editor-in-Chief for the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Prof. Laurent Salomon is a senior consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine at Necker-Enfants-Malades Hospital and full professor at Paris Descartes University. His special interests are imaging technologies including MRI, Twins, Fetal surgery, Statistics, Teaching processes and Quality control. Laurent completed a PhD in Physics with distinction (Paris XI Sud, Science University – Orsay), applied to Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the placenta. He also completed a MSc in Medical Statistic with distinction at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Laurent is an associate director of a Master Degree in Prenatal Diagnosis and Fetal Medicine at Paris Descartes University. He is on the Editorial Board of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology and involved in many committees and task forces of ISUOG. Laurent also serves on a regular basis as an expert for the National Agency for Biomedicine, French Health Authority and National Security Agency in Health Products, as well as for international research projects.

Joanne Stone is a Professor in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in New York, US. She was an Associate Professor in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (2001-2009) and Assistant Professor in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in New York, US (1992-2001). She was taking prominent positions in SMFM (The Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine) and other societies and professional organizations. In 2017, Joanne Stone was selected to the Executive Board of SMFM. She is well- known both nationally and internationally for her research publications.

Joanne Stone was educated at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York and continued her education at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. As part of her postgraduate training, she spent two years working in the Mount Sinai Hospital as well as in the Long Island Jewish Hospital, and the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

Joanne Stone enjoys teaching and takes responsibilites to educate junior doctors. She is leading courses at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Embryology Course for medical students, running weekly research meeting with fellows, medical students and residents for research in MFM. In 2004, she was selected by new PGY-1 to serve as mentor.
