Our society is full of world-renowned experts and innovators who have implemented real change in the field of ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology, and helped to better the lives of women and babies across the globe.

“The past 35 years bear witness to ISUOG’s uncontested position as the global leader in innovation in ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology. Our founders and experts continue to be the innovators driving the evolution in ultrasound technology. Our guidelines serve as the reference for clinicians worldwide. Our Outreach programme is committed to equity, our Basic Training program is foundational for all probe handlers, our Congress and educational  courses receive the highest ratings and our Journal is the launching pad for cutting edge research. Together we ensure ISUOG’s future of continued innovation and impact”, said ISUOG President, Prof. Reem S Abu-Rustum.

ISUOG’s work spans beyond the Western world to help to better the quality of medical education and thus ultrasound care in the global South, so that patients of varying levels of privilege and socio-economic status have access to much needed obstetric and gynecological care.

‘ISUOG Innovators’ aims to take a step back to reflect the evolution OB/GYN ultrasound and see how far we have progressed the landscape of healthcare for women.

ISUOG CEO, Wendy Holloway said: “It is an honour and privilege to work for such a progressive and forward-thinking Society; the opportunities for ultrasound technology are expanding rapidly, offering new possibilities for early diagnosis, improved patient outcomes, and innovative research. The potential is immense, and I believe that by working together with our partners and community, through collaboration and shared expertise, we can unlock even greater achievements in maternal and fetal health now and into the future.”

We asked our ISUOG Innovators a series of reflective questions. How far have we come? What are some of the landmark achievements in the last three and a half decades?

Watch the first four instalments of the series from Prof. Katia Bilardo, Prof. Kurt Hecher, Dr Mala Sibal and President Elect, Prof. Liona Poon. And keep your eyes peeled for more videos to come.
