Editor-in-Chief for ULTRASOUND in Obstetrics & Gynecology                                                   

The International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) is seeking to appoint a new Editor-in-Chief for its flagship journal, Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology (UOG). UOG is the leading peer-reviewed journal in the field of imaging in obstetrics and gynecology, with an Impact Factor of 6.1, more than 6 million downloads annually, and an international authorship and readership.

 

Role overview

The role of the Editor-in-Chief is to provide strategic, editorial and operational leadership, working closely with the Editors, Editorial Board and Editorial Office to ensure the continued excellence, integrity, and impact of the Journal, and shape its long-term direction in partnership with the Society and Publisher.

In addition to a medical degree and extensive broad knowledge of ultrasound in the fields of obstetrics/fetal medicine, gynecology and reproductive medicine, the Editor-in-Chief should have published extensively in high-quality scientific research journals. Candidates should be familiar with the peer-review process, have experience in editorial roles within scientific or medical journals, an understanding of basic statistical principles, and an excellent command of the English language. 

The official term will commence in September 2026, with a handover period starting in summer 2026. The appointment will be for 4 years, with the possibility of renewal for an equivalent term. The recruitment will be led by the ISUOG Journal Oversight Committee, and the final appointment will be made by the ISUOG Board of Trustees.  

Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted online by the Journal Oversight Committee in October/November 2025.
