Submitting your abstract is a great opportunity to share your work with the international community of experts in ultrasound for obstetrics and gynecology, and an excellent way to participate in the annual ISUOG World Congress!
Here are six key tips to help you prepare your abstract for submission:
1. Start with the problem: Open with your research objectives. Summarise a research problem or hypothesis your research addresses, as well as justify the value and significance of your research.
2. Focus on your main findings: Do not try and fit all the findings of your study into the abstract. Concentrate on the most important results and data, and then formulate your abstract around those. Highlight the findings that matter most and link them to your original research questions to engage the reviewers.
3. Consider your audience: Images are central to ultrasound in OBGYN and can make all the difference to your abstract. If you have a relevant image that demonstrates your findings, be sure to include it.
4. Be concise: Make sure to clearly and concisely summarise your findings and their implications for clinical practice. This will help reviewers to quickly understand the significance of your research to OBGYN. The conclusion section of your abstract should be devoted to stating your main findings as concisely as possible and why this matters.
5. Set aside time for review: Ask your peers, mentor or professor for guidance and feedback to improve your abstract. Leave plenty of time for this review process, and don’t wait until the deadline day to submit.
6. Follow our instructions: Make sure to review our instructions carefully so that you format and upload your abstract correctly.
Finally, be proud of your work and enjoy sharing it – we wish you luck with your submission.
