The Society is registered as a United Kingdom company and charity and is governed by a constitution which you can refer to on this website.
- The Society is ultimately responsible to its membership which amounts to more than 2800 practitioners around the world.
- The Annual General Meeting, which all members are invited to attend, is held during each annual World Congress.
The constitution lays out various powers to enable the Society to achieve its objectives and to define the rules and regulations within which it administers these activities. Central to the constitution is the requirement of the Society to retain any profits for the furtherance of its objects and the inability of any Director (Trustee) to gain personal benefit from his or her position in the Society, either directly or indirectly.
- The Society is administered by an Executive Board which also oversees the activities of several specialist boards and committees. The Editorial Board has responsibility for its official Journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology under the direction of the Editor-in-Chief. The Education Committee promotes and develops educational activity within the society and the Scientific Committee has responsibility for development of scientific programs and activities within ISUOG's World Congress and other scientific events. A full copy of ISUOG's constitution and governing regulations can be downloaded from this webpage.
- Internal protocols have been established to ensure a continual provision of new Trustees to the Board and a limited period that any officer shall serve.
