The VISUOG Sub-Committee is responsible for the development and expansion of VISUOG, ISUOG's visual encyclopedia, which aims to provide medical professionals with up-to-date information on the clinical use of ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr Nikolaos Antonakopoulos graduated from the Athens University Medical School and received the Greek GMC Licence. He currently works as an Academic Fellow in the University of Athens and privately as Obstetrician and Gynecologist in Athens. He also teaches in the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) Greek Course, the Advanced Life Support in Gynecology (ALSG) Course, the ISUOG BT Greek Course, the RCOG BPS Greek Course and in two MSc programs of Athens University Medical School, “Research in Female Reproduction” and “High Risk Pregnancy”.

He has many publications in peer-reviewed journals and works as a reviewer of international journals, collaborating with ISUOG for VISUOG chapters and presenting at national and international meetings. He has completed Ob/Gyn basic training in 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of University of Athens and was awarded the Ob/Gyn Specialization Title in 2014.

He trained in Gynecologic and Obstetric Ultrasound at the Evgenideio Hospital of the University of Athens (Chair: Professor Nikolaos Vrachnis), and specialized in Fetal Medicine at FMU St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London (Chair: Professor Basky Thilaganathan). He has received two MSc titles in “High Risk Pregnancy” (2013) and in “Reproductive Medicine” (2014) and a PhD (2019) from Athens University Medical School.

Prof. dr. C.M. (Katia) Bilardo is Professor of Fetal Medicine at UMCG in the Netherlands and is an expert on ultrasound and invasive prenatal diagnosis. 

Caterina (Katia) M. Bilardo was born in Savigliano (Piedmont), Italy. After completing
cum laude in 1983 the Medical studies and the Specialization in Obstetrics and
Gynaecology at the University of Turin, she trained as Fellow in Prenatal Diagnosis and
Fetal Medicine (1985- 1989) at King’s College Hospital, London, where she worked
under the supervision of Prof. S. Campbell and Prof. K. N. Nicolaides.


Since 1989 she has relocated to the Netherlands where she has worked as Consultant
and Head of the Prenatal Diagnosis Department at the Academic Medical Center
Amsterdam (1992-2010). From 2010 to 2017 she has worked as Head of the Fetal
Medicine Department at the University Medical Center Groningen where, in 2011, she
has been appointed Professor in Fetal Medicine. Since October 2017 she has moved
with the same position to the Amsterdam UMC, location VU Medical Center in
Amsterdam, where she has also been appointed as Professor in Obstetrics, Gynecology
and Fetal Medicine. In the Netherlands she has been President of the Dutch Working
Party for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is currently member of the
Committee Prenatal Screening of the National Health Council.


Since 2007 she is in the Editorial Board of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Since 2009 she is Board member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics
and Gynecology (ISUOG). Between 2013-2017 she was Chair of the Education
Committee within ISUOG. And in 2018-2020 she has been President of the same
Society.


She has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and supervised numerous PhD students.
In 2021 she was bestowed the Stuart Campbell award for Education.

Prof. Angela Ranzini is a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio, USA and full professor of Reproductive Biology at Case Western Reserve University. Her special interests include anomaly identification, prediction of prematurity, Twins, Teaching processes and Quality control. Angela completed her MD at Medical College of Virginia (VCU), her Ob/Gyn residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY and her Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA. 

Angela is the Director of the Fetal Diagnostic Center at the MetroHealth System and the  Program Director for the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship at the MetroHealth/Case Western Reserve University joint fellowship with University Hospitals. She is a Fellow member of AIUM and is a  reviewer for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine. She is currently the Chair of the Education Committee, the Project Lead for the Rwanda Outreach program and serves as the VISUOG Abdomen section editor. Dr Nguyen Ha T is the Head of the Imaging Diagnostic Department, Tu Du Maternal Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for nearly 20 Years. Tu Du Hospital, the leading referral Fetal-Maternal Hospital in Vietnam, is responsible for 70,000 deliveries and thousands of fetal abnormalities a year. Dr Ha is also the Vice President of the Vietnamese Society of Ultrasound in Medicine, which has strong ties to and collaboration accitivites with ISUOG. As a pioneer in the first trimester screening and diagnosis of chromosomal abnormality, managing fetal structural abnormalities and high-risk pregnancy, Dr. Ha has contributed to building up the standard prenatal care in Vietnam as well as trained thousands of Vietnamese doctors in OBGYN Ultrasound and fetal medicine.
