Placenta Accreta Spectrum Disorders
Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is a placentation disorder where part of the placenta is abnormally attached to the uterine wall, which affects around 1 in 800 live births. When undiagnosed at birth, attempts at placental manual delivery are associated with massive hemorrhage. Prenatal ultrasound imaging is therefore essential in the screening and management of PAS.
